Jedi

The Jedi are Humans and other races/aliens in Star Wars who have trained in the arts of manipulating The Force to help others,keep peace, and attempt to defend the Republic.

The first two Jedi we see in the Star Wars movies are Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi. They both have the ability to utilise the force, and as such they can manipulate objects and lifeforms by using their Jedi training. As a general rule, members of The Jedi Order are peaceful and believe in serenity and take a non-aggresive stance unless there is no option. However, when the Old Republic starts to fracture, some Jedi break away from the order and eventually evolve into the Sith.
