Darth Malak

Darth Malak is the antagonist from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic who becomes the new Dark Lord of the Sith after Revan's downfall.

Background

Before he became Malak, his name was Alek Squinquargesimus, or Squint for short. Malak was always noted as a head strong fighter who reveled in the idea of a battle. As he befriended Revan, he began to fall farther and farther into the Dark Side, eventually becoming what would be Malak. Soon after the battle of Malachor V, Revan and Malak used the influence that had gained as commanders as Republic forces to twist their allegiances to form their new Sith Empire. Malak would become the student of Revan, a role he was never comfortable in. Sometime during a sparring session between Raven and Malak, Malak's entire jaw would be sliced off, forcing him to have a cybernetic jaw implanted. When the Jedi sent the strike team to capture Revan, Malak opened fire on his former master, cementing himself as the new Dark Lord of The Sith. Convinced as he was he took up himself a student, Darth Bandon who was a as cruel and merciless as his mentor. Within a year however he would be proven wrong when Revan and Bastila were captured by the Leviathan. As they were escaping, Malak caught up to the group and Revan and Malak began to duel. Neither had the advantage and it ended when Bastila entered the fray, allowing Revan and his party to escape. Bastila would be captured and then corrupted by Malak, who's former apprentice, Bandon, had been killed by Revan. On Lehon Revan would redeem Bastila and together they cut a swath through Malak's forces on the Star Forge. Malak would fall in battle with Revan, resulting the collapse of his Sith Empire.

Powers and Abilities

Malak was a master swordsman, and was knowledgeable in several languages, including the Sith language. He was also a charismatic leader, although maybe not quite on par with Revan. He was especially skilled in the use of Force Lighting, which he proved when he used it to torture and turn Bastila Shan to the Dark Side.
