Background

Anakin Skywalker and his mother Shmi Skywalker were both slaves, born on the planet Tatooine. When Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi landed on Tatooine they took Anakin with them. After Qui-Gon died, Obi-Wan took Anakin as his Padawan, which was Qui-Gon's dying wish. Anakin played a major role in the Clone War's and during which he fell in love with senator Padme Amidalla from Naboo. Near the end of the Clone War's Padme became pregnant with twins Luke and Leia. Anakin would later turn to the Dark Side, forever immortalizing him as Darth Vader. Padme would die in childbirth giving birth to Luke and Leia. Vader would be defeated by Luke, but not before he redeemed himself by saving Luke from Emperor Palpatine's wrath.
